It is with deepest sadness for ourselves, yet joy for Martha that we let you know that Martha Pow made her way home to God last evening. Our thoughts and prayers are with Martha’s family who have lovingly sat vigil with her for these past few days. They have been a source of steadfast love and comfort to Martha throughout her final years at Cokely Manor and Stanford Place.
Martha was one of the saints of our church and was a faithful presence in worship, lighting the Christ Candle to begin worship for many years, serving on the United Church Women, organizing and serving on the funeral reception team, managing the kitchen, and always offering to serve in whatever capacity she could.
She was a good friend to many. A gentle, kind and loving person, she will be deeply missed. We rejoice that she will be enjoying a wonderful reunion with her husband Bob and all those who have gone
before her.
Her Celebration of Life will be held at Knox on Sunday, September 8 at 1 pm. Reception to
follow.
