Helen Traynor passed away peacefully on Easter Saturday in Victoria at the age of 101.  In her son John's words "...so this beautiful soul, Friend to many, Wife, Mother, Aunt, Great great and great Grandmother, has finally gone…just 27 days shy of her 102nd birthday, on a beautiful Easter weekend and a Pink Full Moon!  It is somehow perfect."

Helen was a member of Knox United Church, Parksville and at one time she chaired the M & P Committee, and was chair of the Search Committee that hired Foster Freed as the minister at Knox back in the early 90’s.

June McIntyre's memories of Helen are that "(she) entrusted me with the Prayer Chain some sixteen or so years ago after her husband, Dr Alan Traynor died. Helen was one of the kindest and most thoughtful persons I have known. She was a nurse and a writer, along with being gracious and generous. Helen was the first person to console and sympathize with those grieving a loss in their family. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Alan.

Please keep the Traynor family in your prayers as they remember and mourn this remarkable woman with love and good memories.”
