The Hesham Refugee Sponsorship Group is proud to announce a concert by the Orontes Guitar Quartet at Knox United Church in Parksville on Friday, Oct 4th at 7:30 p.m. The members of the quartet are no strangers to war as they escaped Damascus in 2015 when ISIS was killing or imprisioning many of the artists and musicians living in Syria. With the help of Susan MacDonald, a prestigious American classical guitarist and composer, and the Artist Protection Fund which supports threatened artists around the world, the Quartet escaped to Lebanon and were granted fellowships at the University of Victoria.
