The Green Team meets the first Monday of each month - 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.
The Knox Green Team will again be challenging the congregation during Lent to ‘Give it up for the Earth’. This is a Citizens for Public Justice programme that encourages people to do more to protect our environment. We will be sending postcards to the Federal Government to ask them to do the same.We are taking action in the church by replacing regular flush toilets with low flush that save so much water.We have also been selling fabric shopping bags to help people avoid plastic. The bags are black with ‘Go Green’ on them and many will be given to the food bank for their customers.Over Christmas we collected used candles to give to the L’Arche Community in Courtenay. They will remake them into new candles.Our latest effort is providing an extra garbage container in the kitchen to take glass and all kinds of plastic which can be recycled.
